As seen in Los Angeles yesterday, the 1981-82 DeLorean DMC-12

I am amazed that there are any of these still around and in such good shape, too (from Georgia?!?):

It's that extra .5 mph that does the trick ;)

Also, my favorite car ever. VERY excited for the new electric model coming out! Nice job snapping some pics...so cool to see those in person. Saw a yellow one while driving home through NJ once. I've also sat in one at a museum...super tiny inside!

IIRC they had to swap a stronger motor into the one used in the movie cause it was too slow.

I used to see one of those parked at my office. I only actually saw the guy driving it once.

One of the banks in the town I grew up in had a gold plated Delorean in the center of the lobby.

I have no idea why but it was still sweet.

I badly want one of those some day, but they arn't cheap. Then again they're not Lamborghini expensive either.

An electric version would be awesome, especially considering you already need a source of 2.1GW onboard anyway for the flux capacitor, so the motor could just dip into that power.

If flyinging/hover cars ever get invented, I hope they use a Delorean as a prototype, complete with Mr Fusion, rear thruster vents and swiveling tires.

The EV version is apparently going to have a ~260hp equivalent electric motor with a 100-mile range. Downside is, $100k OTD. But...0 to 60 in 4.9 seconds

They do have a new-build program where they assemble a "new" car for you from NOS parts. iirc it starts at $60 or $65k. The stock engine is a 130hp PRV, but they have a few "stage" engine upgrades currently up to 200hp or so. The only thing holding me back from one (aside from not being rich...lol) is this:

There are two of them on Ebay right now, starting bid is $20,000. One is a 1981 and the other is a 1983. Both look cherry. There are currently no bids on either. There are also a slew of parts on ebay too.

Get a fiero instead. Sort of similar nostalgia and you can put a LS1 in it for the price of one of these. Granted a fiero does not look like a supercar like these do.

These sure are purty though. Love the styling.

Modern cars are a bit better with this as they get galvannealed steel for all the panels they expect to be exposed to salt & water. Well... most of them anyway.

A friend got one of them when they came out. He rarely drove it, kept it mostly as a collector car. I bet that happened to a lot of them.

I'd try and get one, but I'd be way too tempted to try and get the "OUTATIME" license plate. :p

I always think of that movie when I hit 88 mph on my motorcycle because it has a digital speedo.

I drove through Snyder, stayed at a Best Western there. The town felt a little run down, maybe I was just tired?
