Yeah. The best way to do this would've been to have her come over here on a visa and then marry her here. Once that was done, you could then go back to India and have a proper wedding there.

why was she denied; do they give a reason?

That's what I was wondering. I don't know much about the process, do they just say "no wife for you!", or is there some reason why she didn't qualify/wasn't approved or whatever?

I was able to get my wife over here on a cr1 visa. Took about 11 months and roughly 2k bucks... did it all myself... google visajourney if you havent yet. That website has a bumload of information and tips.

They initially denied it under 221g. So she gave more evidence of the relationship. They then sat on it the whole time and eventually the uscis approval expired (only good for 4 months). So its denied because they are a bunch of F'N LAZY BASTARDS! :|

I dunno, maybe posting this here is not the best idea in the world, it won't change anything. But I guess this is good as any place to vent.

The fiancee visa was denied, and the original petition is on its way back to the US. I don't know how to make her feel better. All I can do is appeal and drag this out longer.

That is all.

You were married there, right? Doesn't the U.S. recognize out of country unions?

Reading comprehension fail.

I actually know a girl who is trying to get her fiancee over here from Pakistan

She's exhausted and she complains about the frustrations all the time

Hope everything works out for you

The US is even more asinine when it comes to bringing your wife over.

Yeah I know someone who married a yank... its been 12 months since the paperwork started and it's still chugging along slowly.

🙁:brokenheart:

Took 3 years of hounding the INS to get my cousin's wife a visa to come over here.

From how my dad described it, you really have to hound them at all opportunities. Kill them with an overabundance of mild irritation.

US immigration policy is shameful

No shit, it's no surprise there are so many people who try to get in illegally... it's impossible to get in legally!

It's like real-life DRM?

Saga sorry to hear. My family also knows the pain of working with immigration and how terrible the whole system is.
