A window unit?
If so, just go to a house with one sticking out of a low window and rip that bitch out.

On time at my parent's old house the central air unit broke in the middle of the summer. We live in San Antonio, and it was a hellish 3 days.

Last summer mine went in June out but fortunately it was early Saturday when I noticed and was able to get a repairman that same day. Then a few months later hurricane Katrina knocked the power out for three hellish days and I roasted like a duck in an oven. One of the best feelings ever was when the power suddenly came back on early one morning!! I'll never forget those crappy days.

Funny thing is, my in-laws spent the night tonight because they thought it would be cooler here.

Well, I'm grabbing my maglite and going to see if a swift kick to the ass will get the thing churning again.

Well, I checked the switches and the power is fine. A giant white spider with black spots landed on my chest.......at first I thought it was a grasshopper until it didn't fly away when I swiped at it.

I really really don't want to pay some guy double time to look at this tomorrow. If somthing is as old as this thing is, when it goes out, I usually just replace it.

just hit up a Sam's or BJ's wholesale place and pick up a nice 10,000 btu AC unit for a window and just suck it up until it's fixed.

I recommend staying in a hotel for the night if things become too unbearable. Or use the old ice in front of a fan trick to stay cool all day.

Go hang out at the mall or a buddy's house

Do anything, just get the hell out of there until you can get the AC replaced
