I pounded 9 beers in 2 hours one night last weekend. I remember nothing much after that but there are photos of my drinking vodka and rum throughout the rest of the night -- where does this put me? FYI I weight 230lbs. 😀

...and I still have puke stains on my carpet. 🙁

What a bunch of panzy bastards. 9 beers in 2 hours? Oooohhhh!!

My roommate and I will put away an 18 pack together in less than an hour and neither one of us is much more than tipsy, if that.

I'm pretty proud of my tolerance 😛

My cousin got pulled over a few months ago for going 50mph in a 45mph zone. He was arrested for drunk driving. His BAC was 0.02 (correct). Apparently in California, any alcohol in your system equates to drunk driving??? Got fined $2000 plus community service, etc.
He must have been underage?

Either he was underage or dyslexic, .20 vs .02.

I was thinking about this. Either he was underage (BAC under 21 is just like a DD) or there is part of the drunk driving law that says if your alcohol consumption affects your driving (he more than likely would have to fail the field sobriety test), that you are guilty of driving while impaired.

I heard about some lady that got charged with a dwi and she only had a sip of a margarita. Long story short, she had taken a pain pill and the alcohol interacted with that. So she was driving while impaired.

Once again kids. Be careful out there. I fully support and encourage everyone to go out and have fun. Just be very careful when a car is involved.

That's why you need to have a service like http://www.cityscoot.com/ and work for an employer willing to cover all charges

Most cities have some type of deal set up for people that don't want to drive drunk. Call you local MADD (I hate those wenches) if you want to find out for sure.

Everyone knows when they're legally drunk unfortunately, too many decide to chance it. Perhaps if the penalties in the U.S. were more like the ones in Europe for driving drunk, there would be fewer that took a chance. It does take more than a change in laws though. If society really came down on the idiots with multiple DWI's then there would be a change whether the law was changed or no.

what are the laws in europe?

That calculator can't be right. 5 drinks in an hour at 180 pounds = .08? I wouldn't go near a car if I pounded 5 beers in an hour. Maybe my idea of what .08 feels like is just way off???

i was well under that but still tipped the girl at hooters 25%.

my buddy talking to the waitress:
'so, how is bud select, have you had it?'
'no i usually drink bud light'

later...

'it's been years since i've been back here, went to high school here'
'oh yeah, where did you go, i graduated from cinco in 08'

It varies but, in most of the scandinavian countries you lose your license for life after the first offense. In addition, you may be fined for damages that translate to making payments for the rest of your life. The real kicker is that society treats you like a pariah and most offenders end up moving.

That's weird, in CA, I thought 5mph over the speed limit was acceptable.

That's what I was told.

California DUI Law from the DMV website

...

He's 24 or 25 years old. I thought he was bs-ing and betted him. One of my co-workers who had a DUI confirmed that an officer can arrested you for any alcohol.

If you google, you'd get websites such as Random Website on DUI Laws in California

While Driving in the State of California it is illegal to : Drivers under 21 may not have beer, wine or liquor in their vehicle while they are driving alone. (Their may be exceptions for work related driving) Drivers under 21 with a blood alcohol concentration level (BAC) of .01 or higher. Drivers Under 21 after consuming alcohol in any form, including cough syrup, and prescription drugs. Any driver with a BAC .08 or higher. Any vehicle requiring a commercial driver license with a BAC of .04 percent or higher Driver under 18, ANY measurable blood alcohol concentration.

...

First Drunk Driving Conviction
Jail for no less than 96 hours and no more than 6 months. The fine will be no less than $390 and no more than $1,000. Your drivers license will be suspended for six months, however, if allowed the court may grant the convicted a temporary restricted license. Your drivers license will not be reinstated until proof of financial responsibility and proof that you have completed a "driving under the influence" program approved by the state.

My cousin said he was fined $2000. This random website said no more than $1000. ??? Obviously, I believe the people that went through it, and not the internet.
