37 years old, never heard that before.
Researched online, everyone agrees its real. It also explains a lot.
Mom gave up coffee years ago and she hardly ever gets sick. I suck down mountain dew like its water, I'm sick way more often than I was growing up.

Wish this was common knowledge. So, anyway, keep that in mind.

I drink ~2L coffee/day. Haven't really been sick since I quit smoking; about 7 years ago.

My dad drinks coffee every day. Not much, like 1 cup. But every day and he's healthy at 85, been doing that for I don't know how many years. I'm not saying coffee is good or bad but just giving 2 cents of anecdotal tithe to the church of science lol ogy.

When they say "caffeine causes weakness in the immune system", did they forget to quantify that or does math make kids today run to their mathless safe space? Facebook maybe? Did they forget English as well or did they really mean "weakness in the immune system" rather than weakness of the immune system? It's really not the same thing to cause weakness in something (a part of it, which part? how many of the parts? how much in each part?) as it is to cause weakness in the entire system. Though that would still leave out how much it weakens the entire system anyway.

Caffeine has some natural antibacterial properties and is an antioxidant, so I have trouble seeing it as unhealthy, unless you drink it with cream and sugar.

The first result I found said that while caffeine can cause your body to release cortisol, which in turn is known to suppress the immune system, it is unlikely to have any detectable effect as long as you keep it under 200mg per day.

I don't think I'd pin my hypochondria of caffeine alone. You probably have other stuff going on that contributes more to your frequent illness than it does.

I'd guess that it's probably more related to the fact that people that have to live off of caffeine have otherwise poor lifestyle choices that has as much, if not more impact on their overall health. Lack of sleep, poor sleep, high stress jobs, ect.

Nope not buying it. I drink a pot or two a day and have for 40 years. I rarely get sick.

Knock on wood.

Perhaps sucking down Mt. Dew like water has more to do with the OP's health issues than the caffeine contained within.

Don't be foolish, the brominated vegetable oil will eventually give him superpowers. Then we'll see who has the last laugh!

maybe that's why my nose has been runny lately - if you stabbed me right now, I would bleed coffee.
