The way it works is a technical marvel. Its not a glorified scooter. We have yet to see what the industrial one looks like.... It wont replace the car for much of anything but I do see it as replacing the bike as a transportation mode(ie: not enjyoyment, but tranportation) once the price comes down, which it undoubtedly will...

Does everyone here miss the significance of the invention? It's not the invention itself that will revolutionize travel, I think, but the ideas behind it; it'll be interesting to see where this takes us in the next several years.

There's no way flying cars could be the next step, as long as cars depend on drivers that is. Speciffically bad drivers, stupid drivers and drunk drivers. Just think how potentially deadly/damaging that would be giving reckless people an entire new plane of movement.
