It really is just a hunk of metal and glass you can replace

My dad just called, he's been in an accident. I'm extremely happy that I can say he's fine, he's just a little dazed. About to head out with my mom and pick him up. Just remember, a car is a hunk of metal and glass that is easily replaced, a human life isn't.

I'd rather die.

I think that we should smash one just for that blessing. 😉

What about Saturns? Are they more or less important since they're made out of plastic?

Prick. :|

Remove "easily" and I agree. I don't think there have been many instances in history where it was easy to replace a car. Too much paperwork, or worse, money involved. Then you have to go through the effort of actually finding a car you want, and if you get the same model, there's that period of time where it is scary and uncomfortable to drive because you keep thinking about the accident.

Preaching to the choir. I put safety at the top of my priority list. My family will not be risking their lives in any econobox, that's for sure!

Man, you guys are fvcktards, complaining about losing something material. Losing a loved is IRREPLACABLE! At least the car can be somehow replaced, no matter what kind. If you had the money to get it in the first place, your probably have double the want to get that money back, and usually that's going to be easier.

Anyways, fvck that ******.

I hope your dad is fine sheik124. Please update us once you find out more about what happened exactly.

To all the douches and assbags posting, it was an 03 Honda Pilot with 74k on it, and actually his second Pilot. The first was totaled less than a couple months after he got it.

He was driving on a 4 lane (split by median, 2 going each way) road, and he was getting close to an intersection. The road he's on has no stop signs, the road that's intersecting does. Anyways, there was a lady trying to go from his right to his left across the intersection (and thus go in the opposite direction he was on the road). Apparantly she didn't see him because of the guy in front of him, and she just came out. My dad swerved to the left (no median there cause of the intersection) so it wouldn't be a head-on t-bone accident, and braked and got out of the car. Her car swerved to the right a little bit (towards oncoming traffic, thank God there was none) and went into a rain........side road........ditch drainage thing. The weird thing is, if you saw the accident site afterwards and didn't know what happened, you'd think he was making a u-turn and rear ended someone, because his car ended up facing the exact opposite direction he was driving, in the other set of two lanes. My dad's fine, and she's in the hospital with some minor injuries, they had to use the jaws of life to cut her door open, it got dented in (97'ish Altima, that body style). As for his car, I've never seen a car absorb so much impact in the engine bay. The engine bay basically ate sh!t, and the shotgun door took some of the shock too (it crumpled towards the front), but none of the damage made it into the driver's area.

And thanks logic1485 for not being a d!ck like near everyone else that posted.

You can't replace my dodge neon. I put damn near 10k into mods to trick it out.

Ok sorry, I get your point though. You're right. People tend to flip out after an accident when they should just calm down and be happy they're not a gruesome pic on the internet.
