I really don't understand why people talk about fuel economy period. I drive an S4 which is about as bad as you get on gas mileage considering I have a lead food and love to open up that car constantly.
At 12,000 miles a year you take a car that gets say 23 miles a gallon on average (city/hwy) and you will spend $1,930 on gas at $3.70 a gallon. My car i average a flat 18.0 and I'll pay $2,466 a gallon. So over the course of the year I'd save a whopping $500 bucks. When you are spending thousands upon thousands of dollars for a car, it's just not that big of a deal. there are so many other areas people waste money from cell phones to cable (i pay a lot for those too) that I just can't bring myself to even care a little bit.
