Don't those modular connectors look familiar? 😉

Looks like a M12 outside, looks like a S12 inside, as well as the Hitachi main cap, and Chemicon secondary + the Adda fan = Seasonic sourced.

Those are both FSP sourced, the orange fan in the Nexus is a Yate Loon.

sorry to jack thread

I heard the Nexus and Yate Loon 120mm fans are the same thing just the Nexus has a resitor and lowers the rpm to ultimatly be quieter. If so that is pretty cool because the Nexus is pretty expensive while the Yate Loon is under like 10 dollars.

Correct, Nexus is for suckers. 😉

If the M12 is about the same efficiency as this corsair 620 then I just might spring up for this corsair modular.

I never understood the need for the additional 80mm fan on the M12. For me, 80mm = more noise.

It's a 60mm fan that only spins up in under high temp situations. Odds are it will rarely if ever kick in under real world working conditions.

Not a rebadge of an S-12 either then, because it doesn't quite look like an S-12 either. 😛

One complaint about the s12 was that the rear vents allowed hot air to be recycled into the system. But the verdict was that if you didn't have the vents it meant that you got a pocket of hot air building up because of it.

A 60mm fan won't make much noise if it's slow.

Exactly.

The alternative is what some people do: put a baffle over the back half of the fan so the air is pushed back towards the back of the PSU.

But some people feel that this baffle creats some "blow by" noise.

Either way... there's added noise, but it's minimal. If that 60MM is just spinning enough to push the air away from the back of the PSU, it doesn't need to be too loud at all.

That, and the fan is on the inside. So most of the noise you'll hear on the outside of the case will be already baffled by the innards of the PSU.

Are you going to get your hands on a M12 any time soon?

Edit: And as an aside do you know of any PSU circuit diagrams around on the web?

Not exactly the same as M12...but if you check the ul database, the corsair model numbers are in there under seasonic...definitely seasonic oem!
