To bring everyone up to speed... I moved to Maui a month ago. (From Alaska) My job won't start up in ernest for another month so I'm pretty much just messing around right now.

So today I played a great round of golf. (And yeah, I paid $50 for the round that would have cost a visitor around $160) But that's not the good part. At the end, the guy cleaning my clubs asked me where I was staying... I told him that I had just moved here. He asked me where I was working and I explained the situation... Then he tells me that they are short on people. If I came on for one or two days a week I could play whenever I wanted for FREE. Plus I'd get three comp passes for friends every month.

No wai. Work one day a week and play the other six for free? Wai!

God I love this place.

Yea, but you still don't have feeling in your extremities from living in the USA's deep freeze for so long.

Soon you'll be bitching abut it hitting 50F just like the Floridians/Kalifornians

Wait, how does that happen? I thought you had a store up there? Now it sounds like youre an army/military complex goon.

I ran a home theater store up there. I groomed a replacement for myself and I quit.
Now I'm warm and tan. :D

I don't think it hits fifty here. :D Besides, after 30+ years in Alaska, I reserve the right to make fun of anyone who complains about the temps no matter where I live. ;)

Excellent. So what are you doing in Hawaii? More of the same or paradigm shift? Can you just go out and snap pics of random girls (not so much the philipino ones if you dont mind)? ;) I can return the favor in boston, but ... well, girls in big giant clothes is not the same as girls in tiny hawaiian wear.

Ha... Don't know about the pics. They're everywhere. I'm on Maui but I was over on Oahu a few days ago. Here's a helpful hint... If you like asian women, go to Oahu and check out the Ala Moana mall. It's the biggest mall in Hawaii. O M G... I nearly broke my neck.

Paradigm shift is a good term for what I've done. I've gone from running businesses for other people to selling real estate and writing mortgages. I should have my RE license in another couple weeks. I have my mortgage loan officer license now. Like I said, I'm still waiting for things to finalize and start up... But after workng seven days a week for the last three years and six days a week for the 10 years before that... I'm enjoying my time off.

Wiping down clubs after the guests finish a round... maybe running the driving range shack... "Here's your bucket, sir"

Really challenging stuff.

Sounds like me!
I quit my job as a boring CSR and I'll be starting as a skyride (gondola) attendant at one of the local ski hills next week. Free skiing all week long - plus amazing scenery everyday! :)

That is just awesome! Got me thinking I should contact some of the local clubs and
offer to work sat. or sun. for the same deal. I work 2nd shift so I could play in the
morning...
