It is known to be bad luck to take lava rocks from Hawaii

It is generally known that when visiting Hawaii it is bad luck to take a lava rock home as a
"souvenir".

I worked for Volcanoes National Park for a year during college and one of my jobs was
opening all the "return Rock" Mail and reading through the letters that came with them.

Call it superstition, but I believe its true and would advise against it no matter how tempted you are.

I live here and I wouldn't try it!
interesting articles though....

I've heard a bunch of stories about it. I don't know whether any of them or true or anything, but I don't have enough good luck to risk it. 😛

Take my word for it as a 30+ year resident....they are true!
thank you for your respect too.....
you're smart enough not to learn the hard way!

> Superstition?

Of course not. Most rocks are infested with gremlin larvae. Once away from the dry heat of the volcano area, the lavrae come out of suspended animation and begin to develop.

(It's true! Look up how sea shrimp can be dehydrated and later revived, that's what "sea monkeys" really are.)

I believe this point is valid, however, how do you explain the string of bad luck that occurs?
figments of people's imaginations?
I think it occurs too often from what I've seen to be a mere coincidence.
