I'll be sleeping since I'm on night shifts. I don't really follow sports but sometimes I might watch key games like the superbowl or hockey playoff games with my dad.

So the next day I can start a conversation with "Did you see that ludicrus display last night?"

This isn't even a Superbowl. By definition, a Superbowl has Packers playing. Maybe call it the FlaccidBowl or something.

I absolutely do not give a shit about the Superbowl and I think that football is a dumb sport.

On Sunday afternoon, I'm going to watch Jurrasic Park with my wife at the local Cineplex.

There's a Walkng Dead marathon on today.

I'll still be watching even if I have not watched the season.

It is a bit of an American National Holiday almost.

The new Sammy 4K here looks pretty awesome on the side, but bought that because the old Olivia 47" went to TV heaven.

i dont have cable. also i have netflix and there's a walking dead marathon whenever i want there to be :D

Jurassic Park is pretty good on the big screen. A pretty slow moving movie though. It does hold up against Jurassic World pretty well, though the one thing about World that was cool was the number of different dinosaurs (real and made up) whereas Park only has a small handful that actually fit into the story. From a purely cinematic experience, World is probably slightly better, but Park definitely holds its own. 10/10. Would not watch Superbowl again.

It was a pretty bad experience watching this game with all the damn commercials. Only "the comeback" made it tolerable. Football and its 11 minutes of actual action... I don't know how fans do it every week...

It's the greatest sport that's why. It's a gladiatorial chess match with rooks, queens, kings, knights and pawns and a series of set pieces. It's the only sport I can tolerate during the regular season. I'll watch others during crunch time in the playoffs only for the most part. Nothing beats a good football game.

You know what else is like a chess match? A fucking chess match. And no one watches that.

There are many things I'd prefer to watch over football. In fact, nearly all things. Including NASCAR.

I think you either get football or you dont. And I dont.

This thread is just full of people that hate it because it's popular.

Football is almost like chess, you have to set up your team in a certain order and the opposing team has to set them up to block.

They probably only hate it because they didn't like it to start with, and then people never shut up about it. So I guess in a sense that's "hating it because it's popular".

It's like people that don't own a TV, you don't mind that they don't have a TV, it's their attitude about it that makes them so irritating.

lol +1 I was going to watch one, but it was on at the same time as my paint drying marathon, so . . .

NASCAR . . . ug. "What do you think he'll do here, Neil?" "I think he'll floor the gas, turn left, and try not to wreck, Bob. Like he did twelve seconds ago. Like the guy in second place is doing. Like the entire field is doing. Like the entire field of NASCAR has done since there was NASCAR."
