So I'm generally getting the feedback I expected. Which is good. My assumptions weren't too far off.
From most accounts the ability to work from home is very liberating. It sucks if you are a people person and need that feedback. I'm a bit of a recluse naturally so it's not a big deal to me. I don't do water cooler gossip or the old guy bullshitting at the lunch table. There's still a lot of "interaction" via conference calls and the occasional site visit.
A bulk of the job is a geek in a box where it's heads down build. The position will travel onsite for an initial consult and face to face. From there it's conference calls during the implementation process and would be working with other IT resources (typically interfaces and system admin) on the customer side to implement.
It's not a "typical" road warrior implementation grind gig.
