It finally happened to ThaGrandCow

I've been living without protection for quite a while, and I finally got nailed. I go to open up any zip file and my computer says there's nothing to extract. Apparently I picked up a virus somewhere and now I need to clean my system. I'm downloading the latest virus scanner right now and then it's off to the full system scan.

I have never had a virus , but, I do own Norton ...

I dont have it enabled either ... I just figure it's better to be prepared ... if I do have that encounter...

My reasons may sound silly for not having it on ... But it's simply ... just to darn annoying ...

I do concur, bacon is a good diversion. It's funny you mention it, the girlfriend called in sick and woke up late, she' s making bacon for us right now.

You people that don't like AV programs check out AVG. It's free and better than all the other pay AV programs.

This sucker is so lite that it can run a scan while you're playing a game and you'll only see slight pauses (in my experience).
