It doesn't get this hot in Berkeley. Says 105F in my back yard.

Never seen it this hot. My digital thermometer with a sensor hanging outside my 2nd story bedroom (the sensor is hangs several inches from the shaded wall) says 105F now. It's been out there 15 years or so, never this hot before.

I was framing my in-repair garage today, wrapped it up when it got to 95 inside the garage.

It's probably 10 degrees hotter 20 miles inland.

No climate change here, move along.
Not that it means anything, but MD summers seem to have moderated a bit lately. Spring lasts longer, and miserable highs don't last as long. The trade off is less winter. I think I'd rather have more misery in the summer with an early cool fall, and a nice snowy winter. Dunno... Hard to complain about my 68F day today. Warmer than I like, but amazing for late summer around here.

Wow small world. I'm actually working (albeit slowly) on the Winton Community Plan. I actually lived in Winton for a brief time in high school.

We went down to see our oldest graduate from Atwater HS...then brought the youngest up here for the summer. Took him back a week before school started. Got lucky on the weather both times. After living in Modesto/Turlock for 25 years, I remember (not so fondly) the scorching hot summers in the valley. I don't miss the heat...or the tule fog...or the traffic...or the crime...or................................................

It's like 70 here, supposed to hit 40's this weekend. Bring on the climate change if we're going to have great weather all the time. 😀

Yea it's not the most pleasant in the summer. I'm used to the fog now, just take it slow, but the heat is something I can never get used to. I also graduated from AHS!

105? It's broke.
Prolly not. Yesterday, it was acting strangely though. Said it was 54, it was really around 87, guessing. It came to its senses after I played with its settings. It's a Computemp Plus. I got it used cheap off ebay. Today, it's behaving. Says the low was 64, the high 105 here in Berkeley.

The sdifox, the nazis have gone home, The antifas have crawled back into the woodwork. What all that proved was that nazis and the like come to Berkeley at their own peril. People around here are prepared to kick their ass if they come and demonstrate.

On topic -- On the news tonight they said San Francisco set an all time high today, having reached 104F. It's almost always cooler in San Francisco than in Berkeley. 105F in Berkeley is no surprise, may even be an all time record. Very likely a record for the date, at least. As I said, I can't remember it being this hot here. Should cool a bit tomorrow, will reach reasonable temperatures next week.

Perhaps I should have been clearer...100+ is normal in the central valley where I lived...qnd where strangebrew lives. Anything over about 80 is "OMFG! WE"RE GONNA DIE!" hot in SF and parts of the Bay Area. That's why I enjoyed working there...summers were pleasant, although a bit cool and often foggy in the mornings. On my 100 mile commute home every day, each time I crossed over a hill, large or sma, it seemed like the temp went up another 10 degrees...😱

Hit 108 here in San Jose.

Every day...~100 miles each way...usually 6 days per week. (Sometimes 7 days per week) and I never worked less than 10 hours per day...often 12-14.
Don't know how people can do it. Did it for brief periods, but fuck no never something long term. Seems most of my co-workers do 70+ mile commutes, just crazy with the traffic these days.

Won't take a job more than 15 minutes away anymore. Thankfully my employer pays the insane $3k/mo rent for me too.

I don't think I've ever seen that temp here even in July, and that's a good thing, you can keep it. 😛

It's 43F here now so a bit chilly away from the camp fire if in a tshirt. Was pretty nice during the day though.

yeah, 3.5-6 hours per day just driving...it sucks, but...

That's something else I don't miss...

It was 104F in SFO today?! Holy cow. That's what, 30F above normal? I didn't even realize that was possible for SFO.

And here I was grumpy because it's in the high 90s in Oregon (again)...

it was 42F when i woke up this morning

I didn't realize it could get that hot in SFO area. It's perfect sunny fall weather here in Atlanta. Gorgeous clear sunny sky with the low of 60 F and high of 82 F. Absolutely perfect.

105 is pretty normal for that part of CA from May through October.
Not in Berkeley. Inland a few miles, yes, not unusual. But in Berkeley and San Francisco, never.

Actually, the S.F. Chronicle reported that the high for Friday was an all time record for any date, 106F. It was the headline for first section of Saturday's paper.
