This is happening because the only thing conservatives really care about is their fear of ostracism.
Humans are a very social species, and all of what we think of as our personal knowledge is actually obtained through our social networks such as family, friends, education, media, and social media. Regardless of how smart we might think we are, in reality we know nothing without our social knowledge.
Beyond that, humans are incapable of surviving on their own. Throughout history, any person cast out from the group was unlikely to survive. Evolution conditioned us to agree with our social group in order to survive.
While science and liberalism are very recent phenomenons in human history. Heresy that not long ago got one burned at the stake.
In short, conservatives are mindless gossips who go along with whatever other conservatives tell them for fear of being cast out as a liberal.

Wet dream scenario: Trump keeps pulling in 20-30% of the vote, enough to win all Republican primaries but never enough to win the general, Republican party splits with the Don't Tax Me Bros, De-regulation absolutists, and Law and Order Special Voter Unit making their own Party with hookers and blackjack, Trump slowly drags down and destroys the OG GOP full of Q-tards ultimately dissolving it with his death.

America is reborn with two political parties that at least sorta agree on the basic principals of governance and human dignity with different ideas of how to get there.

We get a two cycle golden age.

Then someone starts courting all those Q-tards for their votes and the cycle begins again...
