Hello

I have a new viewsonic vp2030b, and I bought a new eVGA 6800GS AGP.

There is a DVI-A and DVI-D random recognition problem by the monitor or card or cable
see the links for what seems a common problem with everything dvi

However, on top of this problem of random recognition (anyone ? a thought ?), I have a another one :

When running 3D apps, like 3dmark2003, or any new game with high AA and Aniso at 16x12 (4xAA and 8xAnis), the screen freezes, shows a full screen of "static snow", I see the mouse pointer and ctrl-alt-del works but nothing appears on the screen itself, only the whole screen is covered by this static snow (which very briefly appears also when 3dmark changes tests ie input of another signal).

The windows in the background does not alter the frozen screen and i have to guess where the window is by looking at my pointer changing icon. Also, when turning off and then on the monitor the screen stays the same, only when I put the pc to sleep do I get the desktop back.

This is extremely annoying since I cannot play with any high graphic settings.

Now after browsing forums on the net, I cant still figure it out.

I have read a product description of the vp2030b in german, and it states that the monitor comes with a DVI-A cable and not a DVI-I one. Could that be it? Should I go buy a DVI-I cable? or a DVI-D one? I dont think thta very pertinent though since I get the DVI-D signal sometimes.

Might be the graphic driver, what do you think? Going back to 7x.xx ones ??

Please give me your thoughts, I still have a week to exchange the goods.
