Issues with AMD Radeon memory support.

Well, Im the one that posted this problem a month ago I think: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2458906

I tried to contact AMD for an RMA. First, I contacted through AMD Radeon website www.radeonmemory.com and there they told me it was only for RAMs built by Dataram, that my stick was built by Galt. I searched on the internet and on AMD official site for a contact info for this stick, nothing for AMD RAM there. So, I sent an email to support@amd-memory.com and the email will bounce back to me, the email address does not exists.
Where do I need to send my RMA request?. It is a shame that they dont have a good way of contacting they support regarding this new branded memory they sell. Also, they are hard to find on online retailers. I bought from TigerDirect, they dont have it anymore. Also, I contacted Tiger, and they told me to contact AMD :/
I created an account on the AMD forum for help, and the AMD Memory section of the forum says it is blocked. So, I posted in another place related, but no answers, even from AMD people :/

I forgot to mention that the support@amd-memory.com address is the one mentioned in the RAM module, on a printed label there, the one that bounces back...
I am not sure if this is the correct sub forum to post, my apologies.

What happened when you filled out and submitted the RMA form? If it's AMD Radeon RAM, the actual manufacturer should not matter (they took responsibility from the actual manufacturer when they branded it theirs), as long as they made it, and either a) it is from the correct region, or b) it isn't, you can show an invoice that indicates you bought it in good faith as for the same region. Your consumer protections may vary, but I can't imagine them reasonably denying a perfectly good warranty request.

If they do, after submitting that form, try bringing it up on Twitter 🙂.

Thanks for replying.
They sent me an email saying to contact the retailer where I bought it, this case TigerDirect. Then, I contacted TigerDirect, and they told me to contact AMD for an rma request 🙁
After that, I contacted AMD again, with what TigerDirect told me, and they said that they can't do rma for my ram, because it was manufactured by Galt, so they took no responsibility at all.
I don't know what else to do. My first RMA in my life was with G.SKILL, and they where very happy to lend me a hand with my problem and they sent me twice different ram because they didn't work on my old motherboard.
On what account should I @ on Twitter so my claim can be seen?, and not just be forgotten?.
Also, I already filled a claim with the FTC regarding this issue. It was three days ago, you know how long it takes for them to answer?.
Thanks again for answering.

I think your only recourse may be to wait until it comes back into stock at another retailer, order 2 more sticks, and then return your bad ones to that retailer to get your money back.

I don't know exactly what would be the best one to post it to, but I was serious about going to Twitter. That makes it rather public...

I can't do that, too expensive for me. Also, if I order from other store, they won't accept the one that TigerDirect sold me...

I'm not kidding, but I don't know which twitter profile to add to my post, so it can be seen worldwide...

Because I thought AMD was a serious company?, or I got myself accostumed with the AMD that beat Intel with the Athlon 64?.

AMD makes nice videocards but AMD branded memory? I don't trust. Better to stick with tried and true vendors with a history of providing good support and good product.

Yeah, I know now. But usually when you are a great brand, most of the time, your products are of good quality, even if they are not the best.
Also, I am an owner of an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and owned an AMD-ATI at that time, Radeon HD5770 that got fried because of a thunder strike.
What do you think about Crucial?, they seem to be of good quality...

This is why I stick to Corsair or G.skill

Why would you buy branded AMD memory?

Why wouldn't you consider it? Hell, they make AMD-branded SSDs now. AMD? Geil? Team? Remember the darling of the memory world... Samsung? How many other memory brands are there out there?

What I can't figure out is why AMD is shining you on by not handling an RMA for their own brand of memory. Samsung outsourced their SSD RMA (not sure if they still do) and while it was a train wreck (for me and a few others) they got it done. AMD should be no different.

I don't know. I can't find any contact information to contact AMD. Don't know what to do right now. And the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) still don't answer my inquiry 🙁

AMD should take ownership of this issue regardless of the OEM. When they decided to brand and sell this as their product, they should warranty it. Wow, this is really sh1tty of AMD. I'll be sure to let others know, and I'll not recommend AMD products for now.

Is there a way that something like LifeHacker, here Anandtech or other famous source of technology information can publish what happened to me?

The fact that you're living in Paraguay could be an issue?
Wouldn't you be needing something like an international warranty for your product. Does Does AMD memory qualify for that?
This could be an issue:
TigerDirect.com makes no representations regarding warranty coverage, compatibility, or serviceability for products that are used outside the US. No international orders will be accepted by facsimile, postal mail, e-mail, or the TigerDirect.com web site.

Maybe, but according to them, I have an address in the US, that way I got the ram to my country. Also, they didn't mentioned anything about that in the warranty claim I made.
