Issues with a "new" Duron

My boss has a Duron 600 Mhz or something, and tried to 'upgrade' it to a 1300 Mhz.
It wouldn't boot with the new chip 19/20 times, not even to the bios. Also, with the old chip, we looked at the voltages, and the +2.5 read 0.18. Is this important? the 3.3, the 5, and the 12 were all about the right values. My guess is that the piwer supply doesn't have enough juice for the new chip. Does that sound about right?

Yes, but I think the problem is the power supply, and the new chip is "negative" logic? Which means its trying to draw power from the 2.5, meaning it wont work 😛

Don't know what you're talking about. Power supplies do not supply 2.5v on any of the wires. Get a bios update, or look for jumper settings for cpu voltage.
