Hello, I just recently bought a Samsung S27A750D and am having quite a few issues with it. When it works, it is great, but from time to time it will randomly distort to the point where everything looks pink and pixelated on the left half of the screen. It also turns off sometimes and tells me to run it in 1920 x 1080 even though it's at that resolution. Any help would be really appreciated as I paid a good amount of money for this monitor and really don't want to have to pay even more to return it. I've included a picture of what my monitor distorts to randomly.

Edit: Before it would fix itself at random durations before going back to being pixelated (not sure if this is the correct term to be using), but it's currently stuck as seen in the pictures above. I've tried unplugging it, changing settings, powering it off, and changing cables to no avail.

Thanks for the warranty information. Although, I was hoping that this was a simple problem with the display settings I am using or a video card driver issue. Do you think the monitor is just faulty?

At this point, it's difficult to tell from here.

You haven't given us the hardware information needed for a more detailed guess...but, you COULD always start with uninstalling and reinstalling your graphics drivers to see if that helps...

What video card do you have?

Is it overclocked?

Do you have the latest drivers?

Have you installed the Samsung software?

Is is updated?

Since this is a new monitor, I provided the support/warranty information so that Samsung can help you troubleshoot the problem. Their phone support seems to be decent.

Haha you're right, any of the above information would be useful :). I am currently running a Sapphire 6950 HD 2GB GPU. It's not overclocked and as far as I can tell, the driver is up-to-daye (I checked this via the Catalyst Control center). I haven't installed any Samsung software, but all it came with on the CD was a user manual so I'm thinking that it doesn't have any.

I also tried connecting the monitor via HDMI opposed to displayport as well as connecting the monitor to my PS3 and in both cases experienced the same issue. I'm beginning to think that it is a hardware issue, but I'm still crossing my fingers that it's software specific. Returning something this huge to Newegg won't be nice on my wallet :(.

Have you tried setting the refresh rate to 60Hz and seeing if the issue manifests there? Or if you're currently running at 120Hz, try running at 60Hz. Also, try DVI, that is the most stable interface for high resolution content.

I have a new (still in the box waiting for Christmas) Samsung S24A350 monitor. It came with a driver disk, "Samsung MagicAngle, Samsung MagicBright3, Samsung MagicColor, MagicTune" software.

Here's the driver:

MagicTune:

Should also include MagicColor

I can't tell from their list whether your monitor is on the list...but it looks like it is:

Special Features: Real 120Hz Input, 2D to 3D Converting, Stereo Audio Out, Eco Motion Sensor, Eco Light Sensor, Eco Saving, Multi Screen S/W, Samsung MagicAngle, Samsung MagicBright3, Samsung MagicColor, Off Timer, Magic Tune, Customized Key, Image Size
