Issue Restoring PS4 from Backup - USB 3.0

I switched out my pleb 2TB 5400rpm drive in my launch PS4 with a 2TB SSHD but I'm having an issue restoring the data from the external drive I used, formatted as exFAT. AFAIK FAT32 or exFAT should work fine...

The backup data is about 600GB (full backup of all installed games, along with settings and saves) and gets to ~30% but then I get an error stating that the USB device is inaccessible (CE-33299-6)

I'm currently copying all of the data onto another external drive, formatted as FAT32, to see if that makes any difference, but the export worked fine--so I feel the restore should be as smooth but here I am. I have not done anything to the original hard drive that was in the console before doing this upgrade, so I can always revert back if need be. It's just annoying that it gives this error and then I have to go through the whole init process again, when it fails each time.

Any input is appreciated.

[UPDATE]

The manual copying of the data from one drive to another failed, so I'm guessing either the console itself corrupted the backup or there's something wrong with the external drive.

I reinstalled the old drive in the console, which works fine, and re-created the export data to a different external drive formatted as FAT32. I'll see if the error returns tonight and, if it does, probably just leave the console alone. Not worth the trouble.

[UPDATE 2]

Second external drive worked fine, so I'm all set.
