Hi all, I'm having some trouble with my new rig. When I turn it on all the fans start working but the one from the gpu works intermittently. Ramps up for 3sec, slows down and then stops for a sec and then starts again. I'm connecting an HDTV to it but now image comes out at all and I don't hear the Post. This is my rig:http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/elguru/saved/7j8XsYCPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core ProcessorCPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling ACALP64 Pro 36.7 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 MemoryStorage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard DriveVideo Card: Asus Radeon HD 7790 1GB Video Card PSU power cooler 500w I already tried: to start with one slot of ram (no change), to change the PSU (no change), to reset BIOS (no change) and to use my gpu in another mobo (it works fine). Do you have any idea what might be causing this?

Many thanks!!!!

Latest motherboard BIOS?

This, often the bios that comes with the board does not support the latest CPUs the chip set can support and needs to be upgraded with a version that can.

Also check your ram, seems to be the culprit 8 out of 10 times.

On occasion I have seen bad fan power connections cause symptoms like this, worst case try a fan at a time.

I still couldn't solve it. A few updates: - I readjusted the CPU and now the GPU fan works but still see no image on the screen. - I tried a new but older CPU as mine wasn't supported under factory BIOS as 96firebird suggested but still nothing on the screen. Also tried the Fan..
I'm running out of ideas.. Is there any way I can check whether the mobo is working?

Did you update the BIOS to the latest one?

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4717#bios

Looks like the latest one is a BETA (F2g), but try it out. You have a dual BIOS switch on your motherboard, so if you run into any problems you can revert back to the original BIOS.

If you don't know how to update it, read from page 69 in the manual:

http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-970a-ud3p_e.pdf

You could also try moving the graphics card to the lower PCI-E slot.

but since I have no POST I can't enter the Q-flash.. the screen just sits there blank.. I did a bit of reading and the only way to get past this is to use an older CPU to update but I get the same result with the other one (which is indeed supported on the F1)
Also tried to put the GPU in another PCI-e slot.. :(
