Israel got so badly outmaneuvered by the flotilla, it's a little embarrassing seeing some of you still trip over yourselves trying to defend them.

It reminds me of the 2008 Presidential election. Remember that fateful Black Monday when McCain said "the fundamental of our economy are strong"? It didn't really matter if his statement was factually correct or not; the bad PR from that one statement alone killed his campaign.

It doesn't really matter who claimed who attacked first; Israel's handling of this situation was embarrassingly bad.

EDIT: Repercussions from Israel's idiocy are already showing up a day later.

Egypt opens Gaza border: http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6502H820100601

AHAHAHAHAHA

Wow how generous of the Egyptians to seize a opportunity to seek and jump on the bandwagon of stupid by lifting THEIR EMBARGO on Gaza. I guess even the Egyptians realized that Hamas was smuggling in weapons from their side.

Funny how Israel is condemned for its blockade but Egypt who was also blocking trade and travel into Gaza is not vilified.

What a great friend Egypt is, lifting their own blockade for a couple of days to score some good PR. 😉

No, not Israel. Gaza. Gaza should be wiped off the map. Really, who would even notice? The Palestinians contribute nothing to the world, that is why no one with power will do anything to help them. Everyone knows this.

I was about to respond and just realized that you are just another idiot...sorry, you really are.

Knowing that there are quite a few shall we say, enthusiastic Israeli supporters here, I'd like to make this statement, before I get targetted by you.

I could give two shits about Israel vs Palestine. Really. They can blow eachother up to their respective hells and back. I'm not pro-Palestine, I'm not pro-Israel, I'm pro shut-the-fuck-up-and-get-into-the-21st-century.

This is about a nation, openly attacking an international fleet, in international waters. Murdering members of the civilian crew. Committing very henious crimes. And how they will be summarily dismissed of any wrong doing. What if China boarded a US aid fleet to South Korea? This is the only nation that can get away with anything.

Were you this vocal about North Korea's attack on South Korea a couple weeks ago? hmmmmmm? Make sure you're consistent, now.

The situation is too complex now to be taking sides and pointing fingers, who threw the rock first blah blah... I have seen people die in that land for years, I remember my school protesting against Israel attacks since I was in first grade. Too much blood shed over this...for those who only lived in the US, they only see what the media feeds them. Which I never find so true and pure, they never just tell you the fact but they would season every story however they want ..whatever that a another discussion.
I think the world is capable of stopping the blood shed, but nothing is being done is what kills me the most. To see this pretty much my whole life makes me want to hate the world I live in. This world would not see peace unless WE start to teach our kids that skin color is the same as eye color, when it comes to religion you have yours and I have mine, killing a innocent lives is slowly killing the world as we know it...sorry for the mumbling, but I am very sad about what happened and pissed off that the White House calls this a tragidie... if it was some Muslim organization killing..even 9 other Muslims they would label it extreme terror ...it's true.

Anyone who received a Nobel Peace Prize would not be calling this a tragedy

Well, the UN security council met today and rapidly agreed to a full and partial investigation of the the Israeli seizure of the aid convoy.

One of the chief backers pushing for harsher terms was Turkey and the USA, as a force of moderation, merely backed an impartial investigation. Giving the US the later options of being the entity that later saves Israel's bacon with a veto in the security council, or alternately to decline to use the veto. Meanwhile Turkey is putting much pressure on the USA to agree with the Turkish side.

And already questions exist about what entity will conduct the impartial investigation.

Now only time will tell, but I think its fair to say, its likely Israel will be forced to end its Gaza blockade as its days are now numbered.

how do you propose that Israel lifts the blockade and allows any and all ships to reach Gaza without being inspected while simultaneously preventing Gaza from resuming rocket bombardment of Israel?

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/0...ips-attack-aid-flotilla-dead/?test=latestnews

Israel gave fair warning that they weren't going to let this group get into gaza.
Israel has already blocked a ship carrying weapons from Iran to gaza.

What the FUCK did 700 "activists" think they could do to a group of trained soldiers?

I don't think this should of happened in international waters, but it was bound to happen somewhere.

These 'activists' are really peaceful? armed with knives and and clubs, ready to fight an army with guns. Dont bring a stick of pencil lead to a war. What did the activists expect to happen when a navy with enough weaponry to sink your ships 100x over tell you to leave or get taken over by soldiers?

Israel has offered to give gaza the supplies through the accepted-by-israel way. the way israel can guarantee weapons are not going into gaza. these activists denied it. Same supplies.

I am literally expecting the news article which will state that weapon smuggling was going to be attempted by these ships. Seems that is the only "determination" this group was going for.

In my books, these activists deserved it. fair warning was given MONTHS in advance.

Pretty much how I see it. Right or wrong (I say right) Israel has a blockade; that is arguably an act of war except that Palestine is not yet a separate state, so Israel is technically blockading itself to prevent Palestinians from being armed. If you don't want your ships boarded in international waters, don't put together a flotilla and loudly proclaim your intention to break the blockade. BTW this is no surprise from Turkey, as it has been successfully subsumed into the Islamicists' camp.

I just heard on the radio there were British citizens kidnapped from the boats who are now being held in Israeli camps. I wish this was enough for our government to take military action against Israel, but my guess is the US will tell us not to, and we'll tow their line to keep diplomatic relations on good terms. Spineless Tory toffs.

Yes, Turkey went down the drain. It is a very delicate situation as it is a member of NATO. If things keep heading this way, in a year or two, that would be like having Pakistan in NATO. However I don't think anyone will move to throw them out, for the fears of making them even more angry at the infidels.

Israel should have long ago cut all ties with Turkey (it's a much greater loss for the Turks than to the Israel). After being distanced from the EU, Turkey considers Israel a diplomatic punching bag used to appease the Muslim world. Turkey should be considered a hostile country, just like Syria is. I don't think the Turks will want a military confrontation, as they know the IDF all too well, but we shall see how it develops.

I wouldn't be *that* surprised if Arduan sends some battleships next time around, in a direct act of war against Israel. Israeli leadership are too busy trying to be a popular kid to do something serious about it.

Do you view yourself as a citizen of the world or a citizen of the United States?

I somewhat have to thank LTC8H6, for an interesting set of links, but when it comes to the Glick Blog, I do not think I ever read a bigger piece of crap in my life.

"Ending Israel's Losing streak seems predicated on the thesis that Israel lost because it lost a PR battle, and it has nothing to do with the fact that Israel has been wrong wrong wrong in its unjust treatment of Palestinians for 62 years. But when Israeli behavior stinks, Israele needs to tell its self other people have perception problems.

If Israel believes its own propaganda, they are surely going down the road of total self delusion while losing grips on reality.

If they did lift the blockade and they where to arm themselves and die by the hundreds again, would it still be Israels fault?

maybe if your citizens weren't attempting to illegally break a blockade and supporting Hamas rocket strikes on Israel, they wouldn't be in jail.

weird concept, I know.

By the same logic, as these were UK citizens performing direct acts of war against Israel, then Israel should be the one attacking UK targets.

Didn't Iran kidnap some British Navy sailors? It seemed to be okay, then...I don't recall talk of attacking Iran.

In fact, didn't Iran also kidnap a British yacht crew later?

I think you are a little behind on your planned attacks...
