Israel: We Are At War

What does imminent mean? How soon is too close for comfort? A belligerent neighbor being 1 year from a bomb, is too imminent IMO.
Bibi many times claimed weeks. I would call that imminent. We know Iran had 60% enrichment so assuming they would push forward with a weapon likely a few years away.

Now that we have attacked them ironically we have given them incentive to get a bomb to deter invasion.

The only threat I faced from Iranians was that they are going to feed me too much delectable Persian food.
I bought my 1st computer (used) from a "Persian" E.E. who had built it and was as accommodating and helpful as one could possibly imagine.

Any country is effectively 1 year from a nuclear device, any country with weapons grade material is weeks away from a device. Any country that has any material at all effectively has a dirty bomb at that moment.

The problem is your fear, not the countries.

In 2023 watchdogs find signs of enrichment close to weapons grade, on top of the known hundreds of KG of 60% enriched Uranium.

So Iran might indeed be weeks away from a device...

Do I think Iran went up to bomb grade UF6 at Fordow and possibly other places? Yes. Do I think they further weaponized before the Israeli war? No. Available intel seems to agree. The practicality of using air power alone to prevent a breakout that wasn't happening but might now cause it to happen should be something people question.

I don't think we should be so blindly accepting of expanding executive prerogative to use force against another country with no clear threat without having Congress weighing in.

I don't think it's quite clearcut that a country acquiring nuclear weapons means they are going to immediately use them against their enemies.

Particles are not fully enriched uranium
The IAEA report only speaks about “particles,” suggesting that Iran isn’t building a stockpile of uranium enriched above 60% — the level it has been enriching at for some time. Of course Trump toads will spin this into "see Iran had weapons grade uranium"

If I searched your house, I would find myriad bomb-making materials. It does not mean you are actively developing a bomb.

Because we chose not to retaliate, we had peace for 5 years.

Nevertheless Irans nuclear ambitions had to be ended forcefully.
Also missing from the previous posts is that Iran most likely targeted buildings likely to be empty and telegraphed well in advance that they would be striking back.

as recent events showed us recently Iran are not exactly dunces when it comes to managing their assets nor are they using inaccurate weapons and probably haven't been for quite a while.

Also that the JCPOA was not nullified by Iran. If the U.S. could present a consistent Foreign Policy and not have other countries holding their breath every time we have a new election for President it would probably go a long way for the OCONUS stability that we say we want.
For some reason our Legislature is incapable of forming treaties and has shirked their responsibility in that by leaving much of that to Presidents
Which is quite unfortunate because the past few years have shown us a declining quality of candidates that we are given to vote for once the primaries (if there is one) are over.
We had a person who joke about foreign leaders sodomized with bayonets, dementia ridden past their prime Netanyahu nut huggers, immature people who need to be given military parades who then curse in interviews.

The Iranians have a moon shot when it comes to being independent and self-sufficient in regards to industry and academic achievements.

One of those is nuclear technology.

That's not what the article is saying.
You should probably stick with what the article says

I heard that they targeted ventilation shafts to get the initial strike to go deeper. But yeah could be fake news inspired by a Starwars plot...

I thought the tradeoff for us not having universal healthcare, higher education, and non-crumbling infrastructure was that we'd be able to blow anything up?
Makes you wonder if that's why tactical nukes were floated around.

W wanted to create something like that (because of course), but it was determined that it couldn't be detonated far enough underground to contain the explosion and fallout. Plus, you know, all the other reasons we shouldn't nuke other countries.

And heres one from today thats directly from the CIA, opposing your incorrect take and unofficial "leak".
