Well when you dehumanize a group (Desantis: all Gazans are antisemitic, Ben Shapiro: all Gazans are terrorist enablers), then it is a lot easier to do whatever you want to them. And to top it off, then say they deserved it!

Look for conservatives to use this playbook against their fellow US citizens in the next 5-10 years to justify whatever horrors they have in store for us.

Reminds me of what Europeans did to the natives in North America. Called them savages, animals. Unfit for the new world. Etc.

Treat people like animals. Its so easy to do harm to them, and take their land.

Looks like potential for either IDF having struck the building or a failed Hamas rocket launch impacting.

Nobody seems certain which happened so far.
I am sure the idf will say hamas and I am sure hamas will say idf. And there will be no independent source and idf will "prove" it was not them.

this BBC reporter finds it rather odd that they have never seen one of the rockets that Hamas regularly launches make that big of a boom, not even when a number hit the same target

If it was a failed launch of one of the larger models most of the propellant could be unburned and probably go up with the warhead, making a larger than average explosion.

I'm withholding judgement on either side util some kind of conclusive evidence emerges.

I think waiting is always prudent. But, the official Israeli response is telling. They are saying they are "checking".

It would be one thing if this was totally out of character, but this is completely believable from the current Israeli regime, and the bloodlust of a huge chunk of the Israeli population. In fact, they literally drool for this type of thing, exterminating the Palestinians. You can look at the last two decades of Israeli behavior and know this is right up their alley. Not the sizeable amount of Israelis against an apartheid state, but the huge chunk of Israelis who love oppressing Palestinians and ultimately dream of them being eliminated as the pesky natives of their religiously appointed holy land.

The IDF is now saying it was a Hamas misfire. I think they have to show irrefutable evidence to back up their claim

I mean Israel told everyone to go South to be safe, and the south is being struck plenty. Let's not pretend we don't know what the Israeli's are doing. This is their wet dream.

That stretches back actual millennia. The term barbarians was coined by Romans to describe innumerable Germanic tribes both within and without the barbar region, all in an attempt to lump the entire continent under the umbrella of 'subhuman'.

A rocket that can kill 800..?..

That s just plain war crime and even genocide.

I think Israel is worried they may squander whatever support shown it by the West and public opinion by continuing with their onslaught. It may eventually bite them in the ass when news reports show death statistics day by day and once silent voices of opposition begin to speak out.

But at what point would that be reached? 5000 deaths? 10,000? 100,000?

As you can see just by even the pro zionists in this thread, They would easily surpass 100k civilian deaths as long as they thought they had enough support left afterwards. They don't care about the lives they only care about the politics.
