But the Russian navy is never gonna be within gun range of the USN in a shooting war. The ships are mostly to keep the carrier safe, and the carrier is there to support the aviation that obliterates the enemy.

I don't know if you actually think what you are saying is true, or if you are just ignorant. So much wrong about the USN there even without bringing in the Russian "spy plane" or Russian Navy in to it.

That said I see no reason why we should have a carrier group over there. Or I think I read it is now two?

So you think the country that is currently checks notes, pulling 50 and 60 year old armor out of storage to make good their losses against a much smaller country is planning an attack on the US military?

It is known that most US people are unable to tell where a random country is locateed on a world map....

Seriously, 1000km+ capable missiles and cruise missiles or even drones owned by a starving people ?

Why not not only owned but also built by a country whose GDP/inhabitant should be a few 100s $/year.

Yeah, something wrong with that story. I doubt the Houthis could ever get access to cruise missiles with that sort of range.

Attack by proxy which is not out the realm of possibilities. Arming terrorists is their MO and they give them intel just as we do for our allies.

How many cards were Putin holding pre Hamas attack? Zero not counting chem and tactical… So when a card drops out of the air I think its… naive?… to think he is not gonna play it.

Publicly a fist bump. I think there was likely a solid pitch for constraint by the Israelis - and it seems to have some effects. Also, with the noise about Biden only contributing $100M toward relief efforts fails to recognize tow things. One, it's just a door stop to keep the door open. Secondly, we need a damn speaker of the house to pass any meaningful aid (hopefully including relief money for the Pals).

If relief money doesn't come through for Palestinians in the south, I'll be very disappointed. We'll have to see what the UN, NGOs and Arab states contribute.
