Hamas killing innocent civilians like shooting up a music festival is abhorrent and despicable. Most of us are just pointing out that the ones that are so outspoken about this horrific weekend have been more than ok with Israel killing thousands and thousands of civilians, and dozens of journalists, even using white phosphorous, which is internationally banned, and creating an apartheid state oppressing people for decades, and not being honest and earnest with any kind of peace deal, rather getting more hardline instead, pushing settlements and basically making peace impossible. And the most holier than though Israeli defenders here really don't care about the mass slaughtering of civilians, because most give Israel a pass. So we know their outrage is full of shit nonsense hypocrisy. Most are right wingers, which makes sense.

That's horrible. The images I'm seeing from Gaza are breaking my heart all over again. I think Hamas pushed Israel over the edge this time, they've embraced the tactics Putin and Assad used in Syria. How do you defeat men willing to die? You attack their families, civilian infrastructure. If those men are home at the time, all the better.

I just don't see how diplomacy can resolve this seeing how far both sides have taken it, and it's only just started. This could have steam in it for years, and it just gets worse by the hour.

White phosphorus is not "internationally banned" as you suggest. It's still widely used especially to create smoke and mark targets. It's also legitimate to use on troops and equipment.

The Israelis tell Palestinian civilians to evacuate Gaza while maintaining a blockade of Gaza , preventing civilians from evacuating , and then Israelis attack, killing those civilians who couldn’t evacuate (because Israel wouldn’t allow them to and damn well knew it when they told the civilians to evacuate). As a Scandinavian aka dude from white country I’ve never had racism per se close to home, primarily something you’d know about from watching American shows and small weirdo groupings in society at large. Not *really* a thing. First time I experienced racism was when one of my daughters started school where it so happened that we had two families one of each heritage of these factions. From my understanding, Israeli forces have been periodically killing civilians in west bank/gaza for a very, very long time. They're one of many unacknowledged terrorist groups the US 'ally' ourselves with (which really just means it's a location of stability we're trying to foster/'fix').

There is one way out of Gaza as far as I know at the moment, through the Rafah border crossing along Egypt.

Problem is, the gate was struck on Monday by an Israeli air strike. From what I'm reading it was projected to reopen Tuesday. Whether it did, I don't know. Assuming that source is accurate to begin with.

Israel has mobilized 300,000 reservists, and flying in some of its people from Europe, even.

Let's hope Israel can manage to contain themselves and leave the Rafah border crossing alone otherwise it looks particularly shitty when you're telling millions of people to bounce and you're bombing the only exit around town.

Just because @Heartbreaker pretends to care about civilian women and children when it's politically expedient doesnt mean we have to pretend to believe him.

The fundamental problem with Israel in a Western perspective is that it is supposed to be a Jewish state, which means that they cannot create a democracy where you are equal no matter what religion/cultural heritage you have. Israel will always be an Apartheid state where jews have better rights than other religions. That is also the main reason they could never do a one state solution, as there more Palestinians/Arabs than there are Israelis.

This does in no way excuse the killings of innocents by Hamas. I really don't see what their end game is by this, as they know they cannot "win" against Israel.
