Actually. Saddam abolished the Sharia courts and ran a secular government. That was one of the stated reasons our government supported him back in the day.

Right, I'm referring to the new constitution.

Oh, wow, my bad. I didn't even realise the new Iraqi government based in Islamic law.

Of course, we're not much to talk in the US, insofar as we have clearly secular laws providing for equality of religions under the law, yet a Muslim would not have almost any chance to actually win the Presidency for reasons of cultural bias/bigotry
That Barack Obama won the Presidency kind of blows your theory out of the water in that his candidacy challenged a great number of the cultural biases in our society.

Challenged, sure, but were he actually Muslim, or anything but a professed Christian for that matter, I would have bet the bank that he would have never even been nominated.

Israel is an oppressive fascist state and Hamas is perfectly morally justified in their actions since every Israeli there is a person invading their country and thus a target.

Israel is an oppressive fascist state. However, the right-wing does not speak on behalf of all Israelis.

I will not defend the taking of an Israeli life; nor will I defend the taking of a Palestinian life. There is no moral justification, after all, we are only leasing the land that we occupy for a short time: nobody owns anything. If we all go back to where we belong, on the basis of recent anthropological studies, we would all end up in Africa, and there is clearly not enough room for us there.

There is a way for these two peoples to live in peace and harmony with one another, but such a solution requires each of them to recognise that the legitmacy of targetting another human being must be called into question.
