Israel is a democracy, like the US. Show me one Arab country that is also. Israel allows people of all faiths to practice their religion openly. How many Arab countries do the same?

Any country that glorifies sending children, even infants, as "homicide bombers" does not deserve my sympathy........:|

Those are some real "impartial" articles you have there also...

You're ignorant my friend. Christians have pretty much been driven out of Arab countries.

Do your homework before you post drivel.

they are backward people, let us hope that they can catch up with the rest of the world and leave their despotic leadership behind. Turkey is a good model for them.

There was a thread here a while back where the usual suspects were all screaming about Arab candidates not being allowed to run in the current Israeli election. Pretty shortly after that the election board decision was run through the Israeli courts and the decision was overturned and the Arab candidates will be allowed to run in this election after all. That seems a lot closer to democracy than what I see in the countries surrounding Israel.

take a look at the curent and historical population make-up of the region of israel, gaza strip, and west bank.
the day israel becomes a true democracy is the day it gets voted out of being a jewish state.

israelis will never allow that because they believe in jewish birthright (i.e. a jew born in the canadian provnice of alberta or even one in orange county has a RIGHT to migrate, settle and live in israel - a right not granted to palestinians who were born in palestine and whose ancestors have been documented to have lived there for thousands of years)

all this banter about israel being a democracy. it just might be. if so one must also add its also the democracy with the most UN resolutions levelled against it for human rights violations. the palestinians - and INDIGENOUS POPULATION - have been oppressed, suppressed, expelled and collectively punished in a half century long conflict. a conflict over LAND.

i repeat it is over land. before the twentieth century zionist movement and subsequent establishment of the state of israel, palestinian christians, muslims and jews - all indigenous to the region - lived in peace. saying that the conflict is one based upon anti-semitism is like saying the native american indian's conflict with the american government is one BASED upon hating white man. they may hate white man, but its only because white man decided to settle over them.

zionism (seeking the establishment of israel on the land once called palestine) of the twentieth century = manifest destiny (in america) of 19th century america. that, i believe, is the big picture
