Isn't this pretty bad performance for a 6800GT in HL2

The more I play the more it stutters, I just got done going on the bridge deal and that lagged quite a bit. I looked around a bit more and 4500 for a GT with stock drivers not OC'ed seems about right, meaning everyone has performance like this. I just figured a $400 would be able to play 1280 with high detail a bit smoother. I may overclock the CPU and video card in the near future.
