:| superman isn't magic! It's from Krypton and our yellow sun gives him his super powers. :|
I was referring to the fact that movies like LOTR are considered sci-fi. I know what Superman is, thanks.

oh.. well I was only being half serious anyways

people have been throwing around names like nicholas cage, brendan fraser, ashton kutcher, and others for the role of superman over the past years

There were rumors that Beyonce would be Lois and Johnny Depp would play Lex Luthor...

even worse were the rumors that McG (Charlie's Angels) was going to be the director (I think that rumor fell through)

The story works. For a reason. Stick with it, modernize it, but don't change it just for the sake of changing it. It will flop and leave a bad taste.

yeah. they should bring in some of the more talented comic book writers to try and craft the movie. mark waid, i think, always does justice to the characters he is writing. its very accessible and yet it still seems to keep the fanboys at bay. and he usually creates interesting stories with believable dialouge and situations (well...believable for the subject matter)

I vaguely remember reading, er.. actually owning some graphic novels where Superman and other superheroes have aged.

I always wondered how superman got a haircut. Didn't one of the movies have a single hair from his head holding a massive steel ball suspended in the air and it took wire cutters to clip it? I can't imagine a mach 3 doing any good against that.

A couple well-placed mirrors and his heat vision of course! :)

But I have heard rumors that a new one is in the works, but they are taking it nice and slow to prevent crapification of it.

That guy in smallville has a good Superman look to him. But the SuperMan movies are classic - if they make any more, it will be like Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars - never should have happened. :(

Man, that'll teach him to ride a horse made out of kryptonite...WTF was he thinking?

Superman movies were good in their day, but I think it's time for another set of superman movies! Imagine how cool they'd be now (assuming they aren't crappified like Batman, but then batman always was stupid anyway; spiderman is working out well).
I hope you mean "Batman Forever" and not Tim Burton's masterpiece. Otherwise a cranially-challenged Hessian will be riding your way soon.

The original batman was quite good. The second was ok. It was a quick ride downhill after that.

batman rocks.
he is such a more interesting charcter to me.
but they both are good if they can be done well.
the first batman was the best in that series...but...it seemed to miss on a lot of fronts.

Batman sucks.
He's just a man in a bat suit.
Superman and Spiderman have 'powers'.
Powes are cool

Superman is shat. He has no weakness besides the horribly rare kyrptonite, so he's boring as hell. He just shows up and automatically wins. Where's the fun in that?

Batman is a real dude that trained his body and mind, as well as developed good gadgets to help him fight crime. He's cool because of his discipline and drive.

Plus, the superman outfit is gay whereas the batman suit is badass.

We're still waiting for Chris Reeve to get out of the chair. Until then, no go.
