I'm watching a History channel shows: "Tomb Raiders: Robbing the Deads", and apparently, the British is a big advocate in this international effort in stoping the stealing and selling of antiquities in black markets. Aren't the British are the one with the largest Egypt artifact museum?

Yeah, but when they owned Egypt, they weren't taking anything that wasn't theirs in the first place. Now that Egypt is a sovereign state, they want to protect Egypt's ability to hold on to their own stuff.

IIRC, that's not irony, that's something else. Assuming your assessment of the situation is correct (which it isn't), at any rate. :)

I forgot what the word is, but it isn't irony, I'm pretty sure. Hypocritical, maybe? I'm sure there's a much more concise word available.

Well, the situation is ironic, and it's very hypocritical of them. :p

To answer avesPKS, so it's right for a country to INVADE other country, steal all the national treasures, and keep it for themselves? What they're doing now is going after these so call dealers and give the artifacts captured back to Egypt. Why don't they give all the craps in their museum back as well?
