Isn't it great when you check on your ebay auctions and there's new bids?

LOL!

any way, yes - I love it...especially when things go for more than you expected they would because of lovely little 'bid wars' 😀

Off topic question....

I want to bid on a somewhat expensive item from a seller that has zero feedbacks. Would it be ethical/possible for me to place a bid(and assuming it wins) tell the seller to ship C.O.D. or else I will retract my bid? I would like to bid, but don't want to be out a bunch of money.

I'd go with escrow. You can email the bidder and request specific terms too, but escrow might be the best way to go.

Assuming you have good feedback, you can e-mail the seller first and ask if he would ship first before you place a bid.

By the way I never bid on anything unless the seller has at least 100 positive unless the item is cheap ( < $10 or so).

I don't have any ebay feedback, but I probably wouldn't ship first unless you have a ton of positive feedback yourself. OTOH, I would happily do a cash only COD for anyone who asked, as long as they were willing to pay the $6-8 service charge. Why don't you explain your position and ask if that would be OK? You can't know what the seller is willing to do by asking anyone other than the seller.

yes, that's cool but what I like best is checking my email and seeing that I've got paypal from a completed auction🙂
