Isn't the Sony a "real" 24" Monitor?

It is but have you seen the price tag on that bad boy? $1500 is the chepest on PW and thats a refurb. Dell has em for about $1475 after a 20% off coupon.

I just bought a Dell P1130 excellent monitor its a nice Sony Tube. I managed to pick it up for ~$500. I remember less than a year ago the price of this monitor was double of what it is now. Dont expect niver Trinitron tube monitors to drop in price.

Also I very much doubt that there will be many more 24" CRT based monitors coming out. I personally would prefer an LCD but the price alone is keeping me away from one. Imagine when a 24" LCD display gets down to $800 :D

LOL, I didn't say it was cheap. Yea, I just got a Mitsubishi 2020u from another member here for a great price ($335, great Monitor) I use them at work as well. It's nice having some decent real estate on the home rig. I'd like a flat panel as well, but this will have to do for now. Hooking my 19" Optiquest up for a secondary monitor with my old V3 later this week for some dual monitor testing.
