Astonishingly, in 21st Century Egypt, the latest figures suggest that over 90% of the women have been subject to female genital mutilation (FGM). The figure comes from a Unicef approved survey carried out in 2008, the year that the practice was banned.

A new set of figures are due to be published later this year and doctors expect them to show a 10% decline. That still leaves the majority of women in Egypt exposed to unimaginable physical and psychological pain and denied what the rest of us would call a normal sex life.

Isn't it great to see how women are treated in Arab culture? This is a prime example of why other cultures do NOT always deserve to be respected.

If circumcision is good enough for men, why not women? Seems to me there is a double standard. Its ok to cut a male, but not a female?

Genital mutilation is just another name for circumcision.

I'm no fan of male circumcision but comparing the two procedures shows that you're an ignoramus. FGM is more analogous to cutting off the entire head of the penis.

Women I sleep with don't enjoy it anyway so what difference does it make?

You said it bro. I think they messed mine up since I still enjoy sex. The people who had it done correctly bitch about how they "can't feel anything" when they wear condoms. Sucks to be them. I still feel lots through condoms. I buy the extra thick ones just to dull the sensation a little.

No it isn't. If you actually understood the difference, you would know it is not a double standard.

It is a double standard.

Its clear you know nothing about the risk associated with male circumcision.

Do you even understand why male circumcision is as popular as it is? Because it was promoted by kellogg to be a deterrent to masturbation.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Harvey_Kellogg

he did advocate circumcision, allegedly to prevent masturbation.

Or that cut males are 4.5 times more like to have erection problems then uncut males.

Thanks! I'll have to remember to not get it up next time. BTW have you looked at the STD rates between circumcised and uncircumcised males?

I do not really care why the Goyim do it. I am Jewish, my reasons for having it done are very different.

Ever hear of this thing called condoms?

Yeah, I also know that male and female circumcision have "circumcision" in common and that isn't a correct term because it's qualitatively different.

But do you know who is calling for the latter procedure? No one's bit yet.

Male circumcision is an unnecessary medical procedure/a backward relic of some silly religion. The level of harm it does though is in no way comparable to FGM.

Do you have a link to a better source? If not it doesn't happen.

Sorry that was a joke based on another thread. You do know that FGM isn't related to religion right?

Bullshit you ignorant fuck. What they do to females is NOTHING like what male circumcision is.

Unless you had it done when you were older, you had zero reason for it to be done. Your parents had a reason which later in your life you might or might not have accepted.

To me male circumcision is genital mutilation, just not as extreme as that which is done to females.

It depends on the region, some Muslims remove the clitoris while in other regions they remove the skin that covers the clitoris. The later is no different than male circumcision.

It has nothing to do with Islam. What is this, an ignorant Texas circle jerk convention?
