Didn't quote the entire editorial, but its a good read, and I agree with Mr. Al-Mutawa. A lot of people would do well to listen to him. The majority of Muslims, and Christians, are not the nutjobs the major news outlets like to portray. As Mr. Al-Mutawa points out, both Islam and Christianity were founded under similar conditions, and preachers today from both sides have forgotten their principles and are preaching doctrine that both Christ and Muhammad would find appalling.

It was not the first time I had heard terrible notions of fear and hate peddled in the name of my religion. But that day was different. That day I felt complicit. I had reached a point of intellectual critical mass where my love for my religion overwhelmed my sitting in silence any longer. As I stood up, I stared at the imam to make sure he knew that at least one person would no longer accept the recipe of his revenge.

Fifteen hundred years after the birth of Christ, men representing the Catholic Church poured hot lead down the throats of Muslims and Jews to get them to accept Jesus as their Savior. Fourteen hundred years after Gabriel conveyed God's message to Muhammad through the Qur'an, a tiny minority of self-aggrandizing Muslims are using the lead of bullets to kill untold numbers in an unspeakable insult to name of Islam.

I hope we start hearing stories like this where US Christians jump up and do something about the fake christians who led this nation to war with Iraq

He is an admitted Christian..
He knowingly lied and misled a whole world with fairy tale stories so they could take your money and use it to drop bombs ... for what true reason we may not know for many years... but his lies helped kill tens of thousands.. while 9/11 killed 4000.. how many are now dead in Iraq on his lies?

Are politicians lying before and during wars anything new? Far as I know, its been stock and trade of politicians for thousands of years, during conflicts major and minor.

Does that mean we should only search the Palestinian side for said peace superhero?
That will, probably not work either.

Maybe its time to grow a brain and search for all them moderate Israelis and Palestinians that exist in large numbers, but who have been driven from the political process by extremists on all sides.
 
I'm supposed to be impressed that Islam has similarities with Christianity? That is a negative in my book. It's only made worse by the fact that Islam is more violent and backwards than any other religion right now.

That's ignorant, no surprise coming from you though. Collin Powell was one of the few in the Bush administration to admit they were duped, and tried to get Bush not to invade, and regretted having been a pawn in Bush and Cheney's schemes.
