This has been amusing: ISIS burns somebody to death and many liberals respond with a version of "We need to talk more" or let's just re-name them ("Daesh") so they don't seem as scary. Perception is what really counts, no?

Fern

A) Any "liberals" whose opinion actually counts for anything/carries any real weight?

B) Daesh - Bullshit, it wasn't "liberals" who decided that Daesh was an appropriate label for them to "make them less scary". It's use is intended to deny legitimacy of Daesh's claims and even it's existence and it's use started in the Middle East with the people who are fighting against them.

"The name Daesh, according to France24, is a "loose acronym" for "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (al-Dawla al-Islamiya al-Iraq al-Sham). The name is commonly used by enemies of ISIS, and it also has many negative undertones, as Daesh sounds similar to the Arabic words Daes ("one who crushes something underfoot") and Dahes ("one who sows discord")"

A more in depth explanation as to why it offends those creeps:

It also says not to idol worship and yet billions of people have crosses on their walls, necks, churches, all to which they pray to. Most people who "practice" their religion are doing it wrong:p

One of the reasons Martin Luther broke away from the Catholic church long ago and started the Lutheran Church, considered that idolatry.

You seem to be coming at things from all the wrong angles.

You're kind of just beating your head against the wall in your thinking at the moment.

I'm not a devout Lutheran to any extent, was baptized one, I'm married to a Catholic who isn't devout either, and was baptized Catholic.

Just saying.

The Daesh thing has just been well explained it appears.

I agree that for your it's a concept. Just like ketchup was a vegetable for Reagan.

If you don't understand the concept of pitting rival groups against each other so that you can gain power, well then I guess ignorance is bliss. You, as well as others can continue to swallow their propaganda while wondering why so many people keep joining them.

Apparently it's easier for you to be stupid and hate on some Muslims while ignoring the facts and the reactions they keep provoking.

Uh ok.

"If you're only taking down content and not worrying about the people watching content, they will be searching for content elsewhere," Ramadan told The Associated Press on the sidelines of an EU interior ministers' meeting in Riga. "We should prevent them from searching such content by feeding them counter-narratives, telling them that jihadist propaganda is a lie."

Kind of funny how the "infidels" are allowed to join their jihad to rid their land of infidels.

What "propaganda?" When we ask you what ISIS believes in, you tell us that the "concept" is to pit groups against each other. And now you again refer to their "propaganda." Please, tell us: WHAT IS THEIR PROPAGANDA?

Are you really this dumb? Do you even understand what propaganda is and how it works/is used?

And if that wasn’t infuriating enough for the militants, Black reports that the acronym has already become an Arabic word in its own right, with a plural – daw’aish – meaning “bigots who impose their views on others”.

:hmm:

Actually I don't get the point. I'm not watching videos, sorry. If your point is backed up by the videos then I'll just take your word for it.

Equally amusing are the people who say that we need to call terrorist, Islamic terrorist in order to defeat them.

We know a lot more about ISIS than you seem to think.

The Sunni versus Shia conflicted is rooted in their religion: Islam.

When your religion is also your govt, talk of politics IS talk about religion.

ISIS is more pragmatic and obviously more brutal than the others (AQ, Taliban or Muslim brotherhood). ISIS has clear material objective: Money, land and power.

ISIS more mafia-like than the others. Theft, kidnapping, taxing - whatever - they're much more about 'The Money' than the others.

ISIS pays their fighters. Estimates of their revenue vary from $1-4 million per day. And it seems to me that they are actively trying to grow that revenue stream to advance their (earthly) objectives.

I'm not sure why think you propaganda will be successful, or who it is to be aimed at, or why we - The Great Satan - could possibly be seen as a legitimate source for 'true info' on Islam by Muslims.

Yeah, I think we need to know our enemy. No, I don't think propaganda will win over money+power and perks like sex slaves etc.

Equally amusing are non-Islamists who think they have the authority to tell Islamists whether or not they are real Islamists.

Judge on bro!
