ISDN help

The price of DSL in my area is outrageous. We do not have cable internet either. A company is offering 64K ISDN as an upgrade to dialup at $4/mo more. Does a person need a new phone line for this or does the modem work off the regular phone line?

It works off the exsisting Phone Line, provided the lines
meet the requirements (ie. non old ratty cables, proximity to switching station).

They will usually check the lines to see if the lines are usuable.

They'll typically run it throught the 2nd pair already coming into your house. Unless you have a 2nd phone line on this already there shouldn't be any trouble.

If you can get 128k IDSN you'll be set. It's fast enough to get you competitive ping times in most online games and general web surfing is really fast. You'll still be hurting a bit on large downloads though.
