Isass.exe

So, the problem started when I unplugged the hard drive then replugged it and booted the computer back up. After the windows splash screen I get an error saying "Isass.exe - System Error, "When trying to update a password, the return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not correct." After this the computer just keeps on rebooting itself non-stop. Any ideas?

Had that same problem last week on a customer's pc. Scanned for viruses and found none and also could not do a repair install of XP either.

Ended up just backing up data and reformatting....it worked fine afterwards.

I'd rather not reformat at this point. Haven't had time to try some of the things other people have suggested but I'll be trying them out soon and I'll let you guys know if it works or not.

I highly recommend you look at the first post here.

Of the three links in the center, the middle link has to do with prevention. The first and third are for cleanup. I used both of those early last week with great results.
