OMFG. I just got finished with Isabels mess she left. I live in Richmond Virginia. I had trees down... branches, leaves, etc all over my yard. I still have my back yard to deal with. I just recieved power back and the water supply here got contaminated with sewage.... Its terrible. Anyways be happy you dont live here. As I wish i hadnt as of this morning... Pretty scary during the night tho listening to the cracking trees and the ground shaking and not being able to see anything. It was an experience. I really feel for the people in North Carolina. They got hit the worst...
My hopes and thoughts are with u peeps there. Take it easy

Arlington, VA here. Probably not as crazy up here as down there but around 6 pm yesterday, it looked really nasty outside.

On a personal note, work got canceled for two days because the gov't closed 🙂

I live about a 1/2 hour north of Raleigh and I didn't get hit all that bad. Folks east of here were clobbered.

Hmmm, odd, here in Oklahoma just a month or so ago we had a regular storm that was just as bad as that hurricane was in most places. Wind speeds got up in excess of 80mph where I work. Broke a few trees, flipped some small planes over (work near a very small airport), turned over some semi's parked near the Interestate a bit west of here.

Hurricanes can be scary, but from what i understand this one wasn't much aside from some power lines being down, some tree's being blown over, but that happens on a regular basis down here, not counting tornado's. You should feel lucky thats all you got are some sticks and limbs in your yard.

Nothing here in NYC.

It hardly even rained.

I think after all the crap we went through this year, we kind of deserved a break.

yep.... trees down that are really thick and not old, houses that lost their deck, power out, water smells like sewage... yum.... tasty

My sister was telling me it ripped the storm door off of our house...

In Kansas and Oklahoma, tornados will rip your house off your storm door. Feel lucky...

I thought you were typing the title but Isabel's winds blew you away so you weren't able to complete it. I'm so relieved that you're ok!
