Stone told The AP he and co-creator Trey Parker "never heard a peep out of Isaac in any way until we did Scientology. He wants a different standard for religions other than his own, and to me, that is where intolerance and bigotry begin."

I'm a little more astigmatic than usual today, so I need to clarify what I may or may not have read.

Did you make some sort of statement implying Isaac Hayes would be outperformed as chef?

No. All he said was they can find someone else to do the voice.
 
YES, he is a Scientologist. Matt and Trey talked about this very issue of Isaac and Scientology in an issue of Esquire a few months back (could have been GQ)
 
if they wanted to replace him all they have to do is kill chef off and have his twin brother with a isaac hayes-like voice appear and take his place...voila new chef
 
I don't think anyone can do Chef like IH did. On the bright side, maybe this will give the creators a chance to come up with a new character for the cafeteria. At the very least, I would love to see an episode where Ned and Jimbo try to fill in for Chef, and they serve up whatever critters they happen to shoot the day before and tick off PETA in the process.

haha, are you serious? Don't you know these shows have people LINED up who can fill in for the voices if the actors walk out for whatever reason? The Simpsons have about 5 "backup Homers", and you'd never know. Did you notice the change in Meg in Family Guy?
