I have a Crystal ISA audio card that I have tried in both ISA slots and it hangs the boot process.
I believe I have used the card elsewhere and it worked, but I'm not sure. Do I assume it is bad? Computer boots fine without it. No jumpers on card and MB sees it ok.

I'm running 2k on a Soyo BX chipset MB.

IRQ conflict. ISA cannot share like PCI. Find out what is sharing those ISA slots. You may need to disable some of your other devices like the serial or parallel ports to free up some resources.

I only have a AGP card, no other audio, NIC or modem. I didn't see a conflict in the boot screen, but I will look again.

Soyo's default settings changes the PNP OS to no and also changes the processor from a 450 to a 200 PII!

Changing the setting in the PCI/PNP config screen back to yes solves the problem.
