They both use the same engine, it's a rock solid sports car if you don't do any performance mods it'll be very reliable

Well it's not practical for me right now, and by long term cost I meant insurance.Living in LA isn't exactly helping either since ricers get off on Supras.

You live in LA? Go to Longo off the 10 fwy. It's where I got mine. They have the largest allocation of IS300s in the states, so they'll push the price down below where most dealers are willing to go.

the new IS that's due out for '05 is a v8 IS430, they will still make the old is 300, so I wouldn't expect a price drop
