Thoughts?

IS250 RWD manual goes for $33,850 similarly equipped with voice nav, bluetooth, 18" rims and 200 watt, 13-speaker audio.

Engine:
- 2.5-liter V6, four cam, four valves per cylinder, with continuously Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) on intake and exhaust valves
- 204 hp @ 6,400, 185 lb-ft torque [1] @ 4,800 rpm

Acura TSX with 6-speed manual and navi goes for $31,363 with the standard 17" rims, metal trim, and leather-wrapped wheel (I added these to make it more comparable with the Lexus.)

Engine:
- 205-hp, 2.4-liter inline-4, DOHC, i-VTEC® 16-valve engine, peak torque of 164 lbs-ft @ 4500 rpm

-----------

The thing is, the Lexus is RWD vs. the Acura's FWD. Also, the IS250 offers optional AWD while the TSX (though Honda stated AWD would be an option) likely won't see SH-AWD until a major redesign in a few years.

Therein lies the problem. Its overpriced by about $4000...or for that price it should come with a 6-cylinder and/or RWD/SH-AWD.

I dunno, I'm thinking about one of these cars when I get out of school, but then again I might just go for a slightly used G35.

I don't see much of a comparision there.

And since when does a TSX cost as much as at TL?

Unless you are making over 100K a year you shouldn't even be looking at either of these.

Since you add a navi, metal-trim and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The base TSX 6-spd/Navi is like $29,995, but then destination, metal trim and leather wheel bump it up to $31,363. Like I said, I added those options because the Lexus had them standard.

Ah, so you're biased.

No manual means I won't own it.

As soon as they do, my next new car.

For years I went to the acura dealership and loved the TL. I kept telling them "no matter what the cost I won't buy this car as it doesn't come in a manual." First year offered as a manual and I bought it.

I'll be doing the same with the IS350.

Oh yes, its a good time to be an enthusiast.

Is the 6-speed a SMG gearbox or a slushbox in the IS350? I didn't know that wasn't coming out with a manual 6!!

EDIT: slushbox :(

TSX might be more fun to drive (revvy, lighter, probably more tossable), but other than that, the IS is a sexy sexy beast in all other areas

I have an RSX-S and if I didn't get that, I think I would've upped the cost of my price window and went for a TSX instead 6MT. I test drove the AWD-IS250 this past Sunday and it was pretty damn nice. Are you considering "racing/autox" with your car? I think you're going to have to go test drive the suckers a few times and do heavy research on all three car candidates (tsx/is250/g35c). The TSX isn't that bad at all, especially with the 06' new options/extras (upped HP, Bluetooth, and some more things I forgot).

If all goes well that'll be my salary + bonus.

Don't buy.

That's the problem w/ today's *manual* brainwashed.

W/ a Toyota (Lexus) you don't need a manual anymore. They shift so smoothly and so intelligently,.........(I enjoy the *smooth* part, but manual lovers should love the *intelligent* part as they downshift & upshift in an instant if you want)........ I can't see a time I'd ever want a manual again!!
