Any comments about this TV. Any other suggestions? I want one with DVI and under $1K (the cheaper the better) Prefer 32" but 27" will do.

Well. I had a 1981 Zenith TV that lasted 20 years. So I'd say it was a good brand back in 1981. :)

I have a 18 yo Zenith that is still going strong.
I don't remember the actual number but there are only about 8 or so TV manufacturers. They just put a bunch of different names on them. Just like mattresses.

I think this Zenith is from LG Electronics.

Anybody bought a Zenith recently (within the last 3 years)?

I just bought a Zenith DVB318 DVD player a couple weeks ago.

It's been talked about alot on AVS forum as one of the most desirable DVD players out now. Unfortunately, I've been having a lot of problems with it. It doesn't seem to have been tested and built like something you'd expect from a major manufacturer.

If the quality of their DVD players extends to TVs, I'd say stay away.

Old US-made Zenith != new Korean-made Zenith.

Zenith is now a brand name (nothing more) for LG Electronics.

Every Zenith direct view CRT that I've seen has a terrible problem with under powered power supplies. The image distortion and shrinkage from bright flashes on the screen is just horrible.

Of course, these are just TV's I've seen in gyms and the contrast is obviously cranked way up. Still, this is a sign of cutting corners and one you do not see on higher quality TVs.

I got a Zenith 27" hdtv from circuit city a couple of months ago for $425.
Its been working great, the discovery channel is sick!

In the 90's I sold Zenith (and other brand) tv's for a national retailer. As someone else said, Zenith is now nothing more than Lucky Goldstar. I used to cringe when I sold any Zenith products because they were such crap. I knew that a lot of the Zenith stuff I sold would come back as a return sooner or later.

In the early 2000's, I worked for a company that made circuit boards for Zenith tv's. The guys who worked for me always complained about how crappy the CAD specifications were that Zenith would send us. I can say firsthand that most specification disks they sent us always had viruses on them. My impression of them from working with them is that they didn't "have it totally together."

Personally, I wouldn't buy anything they make.
