Is your Dell Dimension 4550 fan making a lot of noise?

Is your new Dimension noisy? I just got mine for about a week now, the 1st day it was perfectly quiet, the only noise i heard was when the hard drive is working. After the 1st day, i started hearing more and more of a humming noise from the fan. I'm wondering if it is supposed to be like that and if anyone of you guys get this same noise.

I don't have a Dell, but it should be quiet like the first day you had it. Sounds like the fan is loose or breaking. I would replace it.

Either that or you're just so used to how quiet it is on the first day that the second day sounds too loud for you I've had feelings like this before, had to whip out the trusty old sound meter to prove my gut feeling wrong!

is everyone's Dell quiet? my brother just got his Dell, the same model and everything, and his is much quieter. I'm wondering if you guys have this humming noise from the fan before I go ahead and call Dell.

Dell's are very quiet. Some of them are barely audible. If you have a noisy fan, they'll fix it.

Will they just send me another fan or a technician will come over to fix it? cause this dell is at home and not at a company.
