According to Dell, my copy of XP is legal and legit.

However, I installed Win2K on my notebook instead (I paid $68 for Win2K Pro Upgrade at DirectDeals.com) . . . I am waiting until the end of the year when M$ releases XP Service Pack 1 before I even try it on my desktop or notebook.

<< $5 university copy. there is no way I'd pay $100 for the bloody thing... >>

How does that work? Does the contract require you to surrender your software license when you graduate from school or drop out from the school?

the copy i am running on my main pc is one that has activation and all that sh.it disabled (i.e. not legit) but I do own one of the eleventy-billion free legit XP cd's that MS sent out, but I prefer the devil's own XP
