Just curious how many actually paid for it..
 
Yes it is legal, but I don't see buying a second one for a second machine. I can only use one at a time so what's the issue. So far though, I run 98 on it.
 
Well, i'm not speaking for myself of course, but I know about a total stranger who has never paid for an OS, but has had a couple hundred OS cd's over the years. This stranger wasn't going to use xp (cause of the reporting feature) but managed to obtain a copy that doesn't report or need activation so now he's made a couple dozen copies so everyone can be happy. 😎

I've got XP coming to me as a gift for pledging to public radio. They said on the air that it was professional edition, but I don't know any other details.
 
I have 1 legit copies of winxp pro. But on my main pc, i'm running an illegal copy of winxp. I'm just waiting till i buy a new pc so can i install the legit copy of winxp. 🙂 i just don't want to fuss with wpa, and have to call them when i switch computers. 🙂

Actually I'm running almost legit. It's the Pro copy that Microsoft gave out for free to everyone. I figure they gave out so many free copies to everyone that they wouldn't mind if I installed it on my second computer.
 
legit copy.. bought for 99 dollars ( i think ) oem xp-pro.

also have 5 legal licences courtesy of my brothers company that had bought too many xp pro-corp licences. i had installed xp.. but took it off.. I run w2kpro these days.
 
i have a copy of xp home that came with my laptop . on monday i am going to vs.NET event to get the xp pro free license.
