£11.99 + £16.50 for me. Worth it to chat to girls. F0ck me it would be A LOT more expensive if I didn't have the 2nd phone. England has some p!ss poor line rental deals compared to you guys in the states!

It wasn't for me. I had one for about six months, and just went back to having a landline.

We pay $70 combined for both of ours... for the amount we use them, it's really not worth it.

My phone bill has never been over $50, since I've owned a cell phone. Soooo, I can't really relate to your $100 bill or friends that I've known who have received $300 bills before. My phone conversations are all 1 minute or less

I love the title of this thread because I say the same myself, I can't stand cellphone companies, contracts, etc.. etc... I was paying $90 for 500 minutes...added another phone for like $10....they extended the 2 year contract...my phone broke, I got the extended warranty(that I paid good money for), after it got reconnected they extended the two year contract again, moved locations and changed the area code, they again, reset my TWO YEAR CONTRACT... after like 15 phone calls, and them giving excuses why it was extended(for all the reasons I just listed, adding another phone, reconnecting a broken phone, changing the number), I would've had to have them for a total of 4.5 years, I was just so pissed off.... I mean, they were wrong, flat out, I talked to supervisors too, I hope they get what they deserve.

Anyways, NO IT IS NOT worth it for me! I use prepaid(not nearly as convenient with features) for now, but I foresee a better future...wifi/wimax is the way, when it finally becomes more readily avaible. Yes, I am very bitter at Verizon..very....

Also with Virgin. I barely crack 10 bucks a month.

I pay roughly $85 per month for two lines (myself and the lady friend), and it's well worth it. I was paying ~$55 for our land line a month before we switched exclusively to cell phones. For an extra $30 a month, we now have the ability to use the service we're paying for almost 100% of the time, compared to the land line that we could only use at the house.

It's just too convenient not to have a cell phone.

I'm waiting as long as I can to get a cell. I don't like answering the phone at home, even when I'm already sitting at my desk. Enabling people to call me anywhere anytime would be really annoying.
I know I could just turn it off, but then what would be the point of getting one?

Plus there's no way I could afford it.

our bill comes out to $150/month for 5 phones..and i'm the only one who really uses it, the rest could go without (and almost do) - but since my grandparents pay i don't worry about it :)
