Is your cell phone bill really worth it?

I know lots of people who thnk nothing of a monthly cell phone bill of over $100 a month once al the taxes, extra fees, etc are tacked on. Is it really worth that much. I can understand if its your business or something, but just to talk to your friends, download ring tones, check your e-mail? Is that really worth it?

Yes.
But I just use mine for phone calls only and mainly to keep in touch with my wife. Plus my bill never goes above $80 for both phones.

I get a 21% monthly discount and 4 phones for $86/mo. total after taxes (500 minutes shared, free in-network) is good for us.

$0.00 because work pays for it. But a few years ago I had my own plan and paid $75.00 a month, but yes it was well worth it cause I use the crap outta it. I normally average 2000+ minutes a month.

I usually pay $35 CAD / month, but I use it in place of a land line.

I pay about $40 a month and already have enough rollover minutes to talk on the thing for a month straight.

Not a horrible deal.

A business expense for me. ~ $100 monthly. Crucial for me. I recently tacked on a data plan for $20 a month. I'm still evaluating if that's cost effective or not.

I think $70.00 is ridiculous for my wife and I to pay to have phones which we only use when trying to contact one another when out of reach of a real landline. The kicker is that even then they only work about 50% of the time.

Might want to think about switching to Prepaid if you hardly ever use it. That's what they are for. I use Virgin Mobile and pay $20 every 3 months unless I use up my minutes (which very rarely happens).

My work pays for it, so yes its worth it.

I wouldn't have a cell phone if I had to pay for it. I use vonage at home for phone service because I dont think phone service is worth more then 25 bucks a month. I dont think cell phone service is either.

Definately not worth it for $55/month. But it is necessary in a lot of ways to have one.

hmm.. i'm paying 70 a month. But more than once I've hit 200-250.

but to answer your question: in this day and age, nothing beats a cell phone when it comes to convenience. Sure I wince when the bill comes, but I wouldn't give it up..

Well for 80 bucks a month and considering I use all my minutes and all my txts I guess it's worthwhile, however it is frustrating it's 80 bucks a month but also a sign of how much I use my phone and how vital it is for me.
